RENZ HU – PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
Renz Hu is currently a Photography and Digital Imaging undergraduate at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, School of Art, Design and Media. Greatly influenced by cinematographic directions and hisown training as an architect. Renz’s works experiments with light and shadows, paying special attention to the interaction between lines, surfaces, form and details. Renz gained recognition when he was awarded merit for the inaugural Singapore Young Photographer Award 2008, Architecture Category, organized by the City Developments Limited which was exhibited at The National Museum of Singapore and was awarded 1st Prize for Project Shutter 2010 Photography Competition, organized by the United Nations Association of Singapore.
MAYUNI OMAR – SONG WRITING WORKSHOP
Mayuni Omar is an award-winning Music Arranger, Producer and Composer. Mayuni’s one of the biggest names in Malay music. With years of success and experience, he will teach participants the basics of Malay music, its commercial value, pre and post-production, as well as marketing, packaging and strategies to help young musicians enter this exciting and competitive genre.
NURFADHILLA KAMARUL – JOURNALISM/REPORTING WORKSHOP
Nurfadhilla Kamarul graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science Degree (Hons) from the National University of Singapore in 2007. She was a Political Science major and enjoyed doing community work during her undergraduate days. She worked for four years in MediaCorp as a Producer for the Malay News & Current Affairs team. She carried out local and overseas news reporting assignments as well as produces several current affairs programs. She is currently an Interpreter with the Subordinate Courts.
YAP KWONG WENG – SPEAKER
Mr Yap Kwong Weng is the Secretary-General of UNAS, and is the founder of the Youth Council.. As head of the Youth Council, he leads a capable and committed team from civil society to conduct educational, community and humanitarian work. He is alumnus of the State University of New York at Buffalo and the University of Manchester. Mr Yap also studies Public Administration at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. He looks forward to bridging the gaps between the ideals of the UN and the Singapore society through a global approach. Mr Yap was named as a Young Outstanding Singaporean in 2011 and selected as a 2012 Rotary Peace Fellow.
Alex Judah Lim is currently a Mentor-Leader, Motivational Speaker and Youth Leader with Glenn Lim Consultancy. He had undergone special mentor and training with Mr Glenn Lim, CEO of Glenn Lim Consultancy. He is also a business entrepreneur himself, currently running a western food business, Figos Grail at Tanjong Katong Rd. Alex visions the business as a platform for ex-offenders and youth-at-risk to get back on track in their lives. He lives out such a vision by employing youth-at-risk to work on part-time basis. Via employment, Alex creates a more holistic mentoring approach as he plays the role of a ‘life coach’ to them.
TAN HOCK MENG – SPEAKER
Tan Hock Meng was a top student from Temasek Polytechnic. He graduated with a Diploma in Electronics (Networking) with Merit. He had led a team in a major project developing soccer robots for the Robo Cup Competition that was awarded Distinction grade. Hock Meng is an inquisitive individual who constantly explores new areas to improve things. As an IT enthusiast, he regularly visits IT stores, the Internet and tinkles with new gadgets.
DAVID HOE – SPEAKER
David Hoe was the national top student for GCE N levels in 2004. In 2005, he was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew award for the most outstanding normal course student. He is the first student in Singapore that did a lateral transfer from Normal Technical to Express in 2005. He was awarded the principal commendation award in 2009 for extraordinary effort and spirit, achieving praiseworthy GCE ‘A’ levels results. He is a firm believer that one’s dream is not determine by their circumstances. On top of his academic achievement, he is heavily involved in social development since 2004 till today. He had conducted various youth camps, lead youth workshops and mentored many youths. David is one that is passionate about developing the best in everyone and he would considered himself a risk taker.
